What is DP in WhatsApp?
Dp is nothing but an abbreviation for Display picture. Profile picture of a user is generally known as Whatsapp DP.
How to change WhatsApp profile picture on Android
1) Open WhatsApp and tap on the three dots icon in the top right corner.
2) Select Settings.
3) Now, tap on your profile picture.
4) On the profile screen, tap on the camera icon over your profile pic placeholder.
5) Finally, you will have two options to choose from Gallery & Camera.
6) Select Gallery to upload a WhatsApp profile photo from your smartphone Gallery or select Camera to capture a new profile picture.
How to set WhatsApp profile picture without cropping
If the image you are trying to set as a profile picture is too big in dimensions, WhatsApp doesn’t allow you to upload the full image. But we can overcome this by using another application.
1) Download and install Whatscrop from the Google Play store.
2) Tap on Photo in the bottom left corner and choose select photo.
3) Now, select the image from your smartphone gallery and place the image precisely inside the dotted circle.
4) Finally, tap on Save in the bottom right corner and select send to profile to set your new profile picture directly on Whatsapp or choose Save Photo to download the image to your Gallery.
Note: Once the download is complete, you can change your WhatsApp profile picture without cropping.
How to save WhatsApp profile picture
Save your Whatsapp Profile Photo
1) Open Whatsapp and tap on the three dots icon in the top right corner.
2) Select Settings.
3) Tap on your Profile pic or username to access your WhatsApp profile.
4) Again, tap on your profile picture to expand it to full size.
5) Finally, tap on the share icon at the top right corner and select the Wallpaper icon to save your WhatsApp profile picture to your smartphone Gallery.
Save the WhatsApp DP of your Contact
WhatsApp doesn’t allow its users to download or save their contact’s profile pictures. But we can overcome this situation without using other Android applications.
Open or expand your friend’s profile picture and take a Screenshot to save it to your Gallery.
How to change profile picture on WhatsApp web
1) Open the WhatsApp web and link to your device.
2) Click on the profile picture icon in the top left corner.
3) Now, click on the Add profile photo icon and select Upload Photo.
4) Select an image from your computer.
5) Once you have selected the image in the next step, you can edit your image.
6) Finally, click on the right tick icon to change your profile picture on WhatsApp web.
How to change WhatsApp profile picture on Windows desktop application
1) Download and install WhatsApp for Windows.
2) Link the desktop application to your smartphone.
3) Now, click on the profile picture icon at the top left corner.
4) On the Profile screen, click on your profile picture and select upload photo to change your WhatsApp DP on the windows desktop application.
How to set two profile pictures on WhatsApp
WhatsApp doesn’t support this feature. You can have only one standard DP for all contacts.
But you can use online tools or apps to collage two photos as one single image and use that as your WhatsApp DP.
