Contact Instagram Support:

Step 1: Tap the Menu icon in the top right corner and select Settings and Privacy.

Step 2: Now, scroll down to the end of the Settings and Privacy screen.

Step 3: Tap on Help.

Step 4: Tap Report a Problem.

Step 5: Tap Report Problem without shaking.

Step 6: Tap the Include and Continue button at the bottom of the Report a Problem screen.

Step 7: Finally, briefly explain what happened to your drafts on Instagram, attach if you have any Images, and tap send in the top right corner.

The Instagram support team will review your Report and decide whether your lost Instagram drafts can be restored.

Recently Deleted Instagram (Story, Reels, Post):

Step 1: Go to your Instagram profile and tap on the Menu icon in the top right corner 

Step 2: Tap on Your activity.

Step 3: Select the Recently deleted option in the Your Activity screen.

Step 4: On the Recently deleted screen, you can find the Reels, stories, and post you deleted.

Step 5: Now, open the Reel you want to restore. Tap on the three dots menu option in the top right corner and select Restore.

Step 6: Finally, tap the Restore option from the confirmation popup.

This way, you can restore your lost Instagram Drafts.

Reasons Instagram drafts disappeared

If your Instagram drafts have disappeared suddenly, there could be a few reasons for this;

Connection issue:

Whenever you find an issue with any app on your mobile device, the first thing to check on your checklist should be your Network connection.

Network connectivity is the most common cause of Apps not working correctly. Ensure you have a stable internet connection.

Update Instagram App:

Instagram receives regular updates which fix bugs and glitches in the App. Check whether your Instagram App is up to date.

Clearing App cache:

Cache problems may not always be the case; I saw many videos and articles mentioning that drafts can be lost when the app cache is cleared.

But when I tried on my device, the draft files were still available even after clearing the Instagram App Cache.

Device switch:

If you are using Instagram on a new device, that may be why you can’t find your drafts on Instagram. Because Instagram drafts are saved locally on the device, you created them. So this is the reason why you couldn’t find the drafts.

Step 2: Choose a photo from your Gallery and tap Next in the top right corner to access filter and edit options.

Step 3: Now, select the filter you like or edit the image on Instagram.

Step 4: After editing, tap the back arrow icon in the top left corner to get Save as a draft popup.

Step 5: Finally, tap on Save Draft to store your Post as a draft on Instagram.

How do I publish a draft post?

Step 1: Go to your Instagram Profile and scroll to the post feed section.

Step 2: On top of your posts feed, you can find your Instagram drafts.

Step 3: Tap the drafts notification to see all your saved drafts.

Step 4:

• Now, open the post-draft you want to publish.
• Enter all required details like descriptions, location, and music.

Step 5: Finally, tap Share in the top right corner to publish the draft post.

How do I save a draft story?

Step 1: Go to your Instagram profile and tap on drafts.

Step 2: Tap on the story you want to save.

Step 3: Tap the three dots in the top right corner and select Save to download the draft story to your device gallery.

How long does Instagram draft last

Instagram drafts doesn’t have an fixed expiration date.

But sometimes, there are exceptions; Instagram drafts may disappear temporarily or permanently due to an issue on the Instagram end.

In this case, you can connect with the Instagram support team to recover your deleted drafts.

How to make sure reel drafts don’t disappear again?

Download and save your reel drafts on your device Gallery to avoid losing the reel drafts again.

How do I save draft reels in Gallery?

Step 1: Open your Instagram profile page and go to the Reels section to find the Reels drafts.

Step 2: Tap on the drafts to see all your Reels drafts on Instagram.

Step 3: Now, tap to open a reel that you want to save in your Gallery.

Step 4: Tap on the Edit option in the top right corner.

Step 5: Once the Reels edit screen appears, tap Next.

Step 6: Finally, tap on the download icon in the top right corner to save the reels in your Gallery.

Note: If you have music in your reels, you will be prompted to save your reels without music.
