What is tagging on Twitter?
Tagging is a common feature across all social media platforms. On Twitter, tagging is a means to recognize someone on a tweet, Quote Tweet, or picture.

To tag or mention someone in a picture on Twitter;
1) Open the Twitter app and tap on the plus icon at the top right bottom.
2) Select Photos.
3) Select an image from your phone gallery.
4) Once the image is loaded on the compose tweet section, tap on “who’s in this photo?” below the picture to tag someone.
5) Now, search & select the Twitter user you want to tag and click Done.
6) Finally, Tap on the Tweet button to post the image.
How to tag someone in a tweet after posting
Twitter doesn’t allow us to edit the tweet that is already live. But there may be circumstances where we may forget to mention someone important in a tweet.
During this situation, we can either delete the tweet and post it again or use the Twitter features already there to mention them in the tweet.

Twitter has two important features retweet and quote tweet. Retweet doesn’t support tagging a person, but quote tweet can.
Follow the steps given below to find out how to tag someone in a tweet using the quote tweet feature.
1) Go to the tweet you want to quote.
2) Tap on the retweet icon 
and select quote tweet.
3) Now, mention or tag the Twitter user and click the retweet button at the top right corner to post the tweet again.
Note: The above process will not delete the old tweet. It will just repost the existing tweet along with the mentioned user id.
Tag someone using comments
As the title suggests, we can go to the comments section of the original tweet and mention the Twitter user you failed to add to the tweet the first time.
