Changing ringtones in Android is an easy task. Users can set a custom ringtone, assign ringtones for specific contacts, and even change their notification sound in a few clicks.
How to set a ringtone on Android

1) Open your Android smartphone Settings and go to Sound & vibration.
2) Tap on Phone ringtone and vibration.
3) Inside the Phone ringtone & vibration settings, select your preferred ringtone from the default system sounds.

You may wonder how to make a song a ringtone on android mobile. You don’t need any special software or apps to achieve it because all the latest android phones allow users to select a song they wish as a ringtone from their internal storage.
The first two steps are same as the method given above;
1) Go to Settings and select Sound & vibration.
2) Click Phone ringtone & vibration.
3) Select Ringtone from internal storage option to set a custom ringtone on Android.
How to set specific ringtones for contacts on Android
1) Open your Contacts app.
2) Search and select the contact you want to assign a specific ringtone.
3) Open the contact and select ringtone.
Note: The above step will open the default system ringtones.
4) Now, select your preferred tone and go back to contacts to save settings.

How to set a song as a Whatsapp ringtone on Android
1) Open Whatsapp and tap on the three dots icon in the top right corner.
2) Select Settings.
3) Tap on Notifications.
4) Scroll down to the Calls section, click on Ringtone and select your favorite song as ringtone from internal storage or default system sounds.
How to change notification sounds for different apps
Changing notification sound for other apps will help users identify the apps they are getting messages from without touching their smartphone.
It may seem unnecessary for most people, but for others, it can help them save time when they are busy with something important.
1) Open Settings and go to Apps & notifications.
2) Click on See all Apps.
3) Select and tap on the app you want to change the notification sound.
Note: The above step will take you to the App info section.
4) In the App info, tap on Notifications.
5) Select and tap on the type of notification you want to change the sound. (In my case, I have selected Direct Messages from Twitter )
6) Finally, click on Advanced and select Sound to set a new notification sound for the app.
How to make a YouTube video your ringtone
There are no options to directly set a song from a YouTube video as your Android ringtone. But there are few websites and apps from the play store that allow us to set YouTube videos as smartphone tone.
YouTube to Mp3 conversion
1) Open the YouTube app on your Android device.
2) Open/play your favorite Youtube video, which you need as your ringtone.
3) Click Share and select Copy link/Copy URL.
4) Open Chrome browser and go to https://ytmp3.cc/en20/.
5) Paste the URL copied from Youtube into the text field and wait for the processing to complete. (The processing takes very little time)
6) Click on the Download mp3 button to save your video in MP3 format.
Trim Mp3 as ringtone
1) Download and install MP3 Cutter and Ringtone Maker (InShot Inc) from the play store.
2) Open the app and select the MP3 Cutter option.
3) Select the downloaded audio file.
4) In the Audio cutter section, adjust the timeline or enter the start and end time, then tap on the Tick icon in the top right corner.
5) Finally, in the Convert popup, adjust settings as per your requirements and click Convert to save the trimmed audio file.
Note: You can find the trimmed audio files in the folder named Mp3 Cutter.
After the above steps are completed successfully, users can select the audio file as a custom ringtone from internal storage on Android.
How to download a ringtone on Android
You are just one Google search away from your favorite ringtone. There are multiple websites available online which allow users to download ringtones for free.
Suppose if you don’t want to go to any websites, download and install the Zedge app from the play store. Zedge offers free and paid services. It is my go-to app when I need ringtones, wallpapers, live wallpapers, and notifications sounds for my android device.
1) Download and install the Zedge app from the play store.
2) Open the Zedge app and click on the three bars icon in the top left corner and select Ringtones.
3) In the ringtones section, search and select the ringtone you want to set for your device.
4) Click the download icon and select Save to media folder to download the sound, or select set ringtone to change your device ringtone directly.
How to delete a ringtone on Android
Users can delete the ringtones they don’t need any more from their internal storage.
